Ch-ch-ch-changes!

My friend, Aleia, was rummaging through her old picture files on her computer and she came across some photos of me when I was heavier (not at my heaviest, though!), before I lost 180 pounds. I don't recognize myself in them. I mean, I do and I don't.

It's so weird seeing what I looked like back then. I feel like I'm a different person now. But, not so different. I still feel for that guy staring back at me in the photos. I want to reach out to him and tell him... What do I want to tell him? That it will get better. That there is a whole world of possibility out there that he hasn't even dreamed of.

Pictures like these inspire me to keep moving forward. Change is always a possibility. It's inevitable, in fact.

    your words, i have walked myself.
    thye are words, i want to say to all obese people out there, every time i pass them ... they have a whole different world of life they could be exploring if only they were willing to put the work in .... you are proof. i am proof. may others be inspired by you ....

  3. Gerard, I am SOOOOO proud of you for taking the necessary steps to begin treating your body well. And I know that you will never go back to where you were. You can't, because it's a foreign land now.

  4. Amazing Gerard! I saw your blog on the LS website and had to come see the pictures myself. You are an inspiration to all of us trying to Live Strong. I'm hoping to be healthier, not just by losing weight but by exercising and eating healthy on a daily basis. Thanks again for helping to inspire me to keep on working hard.
